Biography
Born in Kaminoyama, Yamagata Prefecture. Graduated from the Tokyo Imperial University Medical College, where he specialized in psychiatry, eventually directing the Aoyama Brain Hospital. As a leading poet of the Araragi school of tanka, he published the collections "Red Light" (Shakkō), "New Spirit" (Aratama), "Dewdrops Frost" (Tsuyujimo), "White Peach" (Hakutō), and "White Mountain" (Shiroki Yama). His tanka combined naturalist precision with deep emotional resonance.
