Biography
Born in Tokushima as Sano Shōichi. Graduated from the Electrical Engineering Department of the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Waseda University. He worked simultaneously as an engineer at the Ministry of Communications' Electrical Testing Laboratory and as a lecturer at Waseda. As a pioneer of Japanese science fiction, he produced "The Undersea Continent" (Kaitei Tairiku), "The Stolen Earth" (Chikyū Tōnan), and "Music Bath at 18 O'Clock" (Jūhachi-ji no Ongakuyoku).
