About this map

  • Marker color indicates the center type — Roadside Station (Michi-no-Eki) / At Train Station / Tourist Association / General. The four colors match the dots on the filter buttons above.
  • A gold ring marks centers that have an OpenStreetMap name:en tag or a Wikidata English label. This is treated as a proxy for "international-friendly", but does not guarantee on-site English support — please confirm with each center.
  • Dense areas are clustered; click any cluster to zoom in and expand the markers.
  • Each popup links out to the center's official website (when available), Wikidata, and the original OpenStreetMap entry.
  • Data is built from OpenStreetMap's tourism=information + information=office tags via the Overpass API. A subset of major centers is enriched from Wikidata Q1587716 (tourist information center) for English names and official URLs. Coverage depends on community editing, so rural areas may have gaps or duplicates.
